Features Of A Full Grain Leather Messenger Bag

By Jocelyn Davidson

To be successful in today's hectic business world it is imperative that you are prepared for whatever may be needed to close a deal or make that all important sale. To accomplish this task in the field You must have all of the tools necessary to show your product in the best light and handle whatever paperwork may be needed. Having a full grain leather messenger bag may be one of the most important items you possess.

These useful bags are created out of hides that have been made pliable and supple during the tanning process. Their texture and colors range from natural tans and browns to darker nearly black hues that are sometimes created with dyes or oils that treat the hide. Many oils and cleansers will change the color of a hide temporarily while the oils are being absorbed into the skin.

The shoulder straps serve to make transporting them much easier. The straps may be removable when there is a top handle provided. The top handle is generally riveted to a metal bar that is inlaid into the construction to provide a higher level of durability for carrying the weight of electronics and files. This same riveting is used on the sides for the shoulder straps and other points of high stress on the bags.

The bags have a single gusset design that is large enough to hold several files and other paper goods such as tablets. The main body of this bag also may have pockets built into the sides to hold smaller items you will need such as pens, calculator, or cell phones. There is usually a specific compartment on the back that is meant to carry your laptop. Some have areas in the body that seals off an area for valuables you may need to store.

To give their products a rustic authentic look many designers choose not to use zippers and snaps on the bags they make. They choose to use saddle buckles and clasps instead. The buckles securely close the bag and prevent loss from spillage and the enhance the looks by giving a vintage appearance to the bag.

Some manufacturers have added an option of converting the bag into a back pack. The shoulder strap is used to create dual shoulder straps and free up the hands to do other things. There are times when the bag may be too heavy for carrying on one shoulder and other times when you need your hands free to carry other equipment. This added option may serve you well over the years.

Being smaller and lighter than briefcases these bags are far more versatile also. They contain side pockets and individual compartments for transporting files in an upright position that enables you to see exactly which file you need immediately. A briefcase generally opens from the side and files must be stacked on top of each other for transporting them causing the user to shuffle through them each time one is needed for work.

With an extended warranty of ten years or more the life expectancy of these bags far exceeds the competition. Many bags have survived into a second generation of use within families.
