Buy Royalty Free Music Guide

By Grant Steiner

If you want to buy royalty free music and be able to use it for online videos, especially YouTube, look no further. This little guide will show you what is royalty free music and how to buy music that is royalty free.

Here's what royalty free music is - Music that you purchase upfront once, and then don't have to pay royalties when you use the piece of music (commercially and/or non-commercially). Royalty free music allows you to use music more freely than if you had to pay royalties, or had a limited-use license.

I find it very funny when people confuse the term royalty free with just 'free'. Both of these terms are very different. Royalty free just means "free of royalties", not 'free of payment' altogether. Some royalty free music is indeed free, but most of the professional music is paid for. Quick tip for finding royalty free music is making sure you fully and completely understand all of the restrictions that come with the music you are buying. Start to ask yourself some questions. Can I make money from the music? Do I have to give you credit? Do I have limitations on usage or downloads? Do you charge per-download or 1 fee for a group of music? There are so many different questions you need to ask yourself when it comes to royalty free music, but when you know what to look for, it is really a lot easier than you think. Another tip is asking yourself where you plan to use the music. Is it for video production music? If you need royalty free video production music, that's another question to ask yourself.

Beats Royalty Free is a good example of a membership royalty free music site. They allow you to pay one time upfront, and then you can listen to and download as much beats and music and instrumentals as you can and want, right inside of the membership area.

Royalty free music is in my opinion one of the smartest types of music you can buy. There's no doubt in my mind that royalty free music buying will be much easier, and less hassle than any other style of buying music. Let's say you need a beat to use for your next song, or even a video. You can download a royalty free beat, use it for your video or song, and never have to worry about copyright infringement.

So you know about 'royalty free' music, but how about "commercial-use music"? Commercial use doesn't mean you can or can't use the music in a commercial, in fact it has nothing to do with commercials. Using music or beats commercially just means that you are allowed to make money and profit from the use of the downloaded music or beats.
