Many years ago people could not wait to turn on their television sets on a Saturday night. This is when there were quite a few old mystery tv shows over the airwaves. Anyone could sit back and relax while tuning into these old time favorites which still can generate an audience. Viewers did not have to worry about seeing sex or violence while viewing any of these unique programs.
The fabulous older woman named Miss Marple could always be seen on certain PBS stations across America. This is a character which was created by the late great Agatha Christie. Joan Hickson was one good actress who portrayed this icon for many years.
When Ms. Hickson passed away her role was handed over to another woman who was a few years younger. The younger actress could not really play the part as well as Joan. Even though this change was made the series went on for a bit of time and the viewers still watched. Miss Marple was always lucky to have the chief inspector helping her out with crime cases.
Human beings enjoy watching shows which focused on true life events that could happen to anyone. This is why NBC came up with a series titled "Unsolved Mysteries." Each week they were invited to solve a certain crime which happened across America. Sometimes the cases were very simple but many of them seemed to be very complicated for the police. For years Robert Stack had played on a show called "The Untouchables" and he seemed like the perfect host for this event.
A large canine called "Scooby-Doo" was very popular during the late 60's and early 70's. He was a likable mutt who always seemed to be afraid of his very own shadow. His owner was a groovy tall guy named Shaggy and he was just as greedy as Scooby. Boys all around the globe enjoyed looking at the very lovely woman named Daphne who was also featured on the program. Women who were watching this series were thrilled to see the handsome cartoon character called Fred.
"Josie And The Pussycats" were always ready to sing a great tune while they were chasing after criminals. The series focused on a different crime each week and the viewers found each character fascinating. Josie was the lead singer in this all girl group and she was truly a nice person. Unfortunately Alexandra Cabot was jealous of her and she did not like the relationship which Josie and Alan shared. Valerie also proved to be a unique character since she was the real brain of the group.
"The X-Files" was a completely offbeat series which focused on supernatural events that were happening within a small crazy town. The agents on this series would try their best to investigate these happenings and sometimes the villains were actual demons.
This became an instant hit television show for FOX which is located in the United States. People even became more interested in paranormal events after the series became successful. The two lead actors on this event were truly opposites since the male was addicted to pornography. The female character was more serious about certain issues.
