He is an artist who grew up in Michigan at Birmingham . His passion and talent for painting was seen while he was still young. Immediately he had completed almost 30 canvases, his painting was exhibited at a city hall in Michigan by then he was in his seventh grade. But like usual children can be cruel, Alexander Koleszar was taunted because of his creativity which made him begin to mask his talent in painting. He hoped that it would help him avoid more negative attention.
Twenty years later, he went through one of the most challenging moments in his life. There was an AIDS epidemic where he witnessed a number of his friends get infected and die. While going through the trauma he decided to rededicate himself again to his work as an artist. This decision was one of the steps to emotional and physical recovery.
This time after returning to art work he changed the manner in which he did his work. His paintings now reflected on more real issues in the society such as the AIDS pandemic which had claimed the lives of many in the society. One of his paintings pleased so many people and was taken to a sales gallery. This painting was named returning home. It was among the two best paintings in that year.
Although Alex seemed to flourish in his work, he shifted to doing classical paintings and drawing. He needed to set more time in order to gain experience in this new field. To achieve this he enrolled for classical painting classes and put aside his past art work to give more time to his new career.
It did not take long for Alex build himself in the new field. In fact by the year 1996 he was already receiving invitations to participate in shows. He quickly became popular that people nick named him the new emerging artist in a Biennale show.
Since the Biennale, people across US and parts of Europe began buying his works. His paintings are not only a fusion of surrealism but also realism. They are outstanding and reflect his admiration of works done Magritte and Dali.
Every work Koleszar had done showed clearly that he was passionate and committed to his work. He used paintings to expose issues in the community. Some of the drawings he had made reflected wars in the society. From a glance of any of his paintings one could learn a lesson. They all reflected real issues in the community such as addiction in Hollywood community.
Koleszar is a celebrated renaissance man. In addition to art he did natural sciences and enjoyed politics. His thoughts, knowledge and ideas were reflected in art. It was during this time that another tragedy hit him. One of his close friends who he had worked with in this field for 26 years passed away. It was very painful that he migrated to Palms Springs. There he started a new life away from past distractions.
