Brad Pitt: Family and Career Man

Brad Pitt is one of the most recognized men in the world. It may largely be in part to his classic good looks and smile, but it is most because of his ability to take a character and make it his own. While he started off in uncredited roles and bit parts on television shows, he was able to parlay that into a career that most people would be jealous of. From his supporting role in Thelma and Louise to the title role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Brad Pitt is one actor that everyone is looking forward to seeing more of.

The Earliest Years
Brad Pitt was born William Bradley Pitt on December 18, 1963. He was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma where he lived with his parents, Jane, who was a high school counselor, and William, who is a truck company owner. While his beginnings in Oklahoma may seem as far as possible from his movie career, he did start his career at the local high school, where he was in musicals. He attended the University of Missouri to get an advertising degree, but the acting bug had bit. He left school two weeks before graduation to move to Los Angeles and begin his career.

Career Beginnings
Movies were destined to be the path that Brad Pitt would travel, but he was first cast in several uncredited movie roles. He then guest starred in different television shows, including soap operas, dramas, and sitcoms. The first credited movie role that he had was in a United States-Yugoslavian move partnership called The Dark Side of the Sun. He did not stop there, however, he moved on to getting other movie roles, including the supporting role that got him the most attention-in Thelma and Louise.

Making Him a Star
The 1994 hit, Interview With a Vampire, is considered to be the turning point of Brad Pitt's career. His performance we not well received, but he did win two MTV awards for it. He then went on to star in a number of movies, including Legends of the Fall, Seven, and 12 Monkeys, for which he won his first Golden Globe. His most notable roles came in the last decade and include the movies, Ocean's Eleven, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Inglourious Basterds, and Moneyball. He has won many different awards over the years, including Teen's Choice awards, SAG award, and a Golden Globe.

Brad's Interests
One of the most interesting things about Brad Pitt is that he is very involved in many different political and social causes. He encouraged people to vote in the 2004 Presidential Election and has supported the ONE Campaign, Proposition 71, many environmental causes, and more. He and Angelina Jolie have started their own foundation as well to aid humanitarian causes all over the world.

Personal Life
Brad Pitt has been in relationships with many women since the start of his movie career. One of the most notable relationships was with Jennifer Aniston of Friends. They married in 2000 and divorced in 2005, when Pitt began a relationship with his now partner, Angelina Jolie. He and Jolie have six children together and have been together since then.

There is a lot to Brad Pitt. He has played numerous roles during his career and his appeal is what keeps people coming back time and time again to watch his new offerings.
