Top Ten Greatest Country Songs About Breaking Up

By Mitch Freeman

As we all know, the greatest country songs have themes such as love, breaking up, religion plus some others that help them get a lot of lovers and many albums sold. Several of the best country songs are about splitting up and the following tunes are part of the top ten country songs that have this particular theme and have had a fantastic effect on country music lovers. Between breaking up and religion, the most frequent theme of the greatest country songs is splitting up.

Interesting enough, there are a lot more tracks about splitting up than about love, possibly because not each and every person has had the opportunity to experience true love, but most of us have had our share of breakups. Most splitting up country tracks focus on the fact that they would have wanted to always be together with the individual they were in a relationship with. One of the top country songs about breaking up is "Oh Yeah, You're Gone" sung by Brad Paisley, which refers to a man who still gets out two mugs of coffee in the morning though the cherished one is not there any longer.

"You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone" by Brooks and Dunn talks about a man that is tired of being hurt by the person he is with, that he will eventually leave and that she will miss him when he will no longer be by her side. "Don't Think I Don't Think About It" sung by Darius Rucker is about a man who left the woman he loved, but that still loves her and who thinks about how things would have been if they never broke up or if they just talked and tried to solve their problems.

"A Lot Of Things Different" sung by Kenny Chesney speaks about a man who really should have taken care of the lady he adored while Keith Urban's "Stupid Boy" is mostly about a man who made the woman he loved leave him as a result of his really bad behavior. Toby Keith's song, "Lost You Anyway" is another one of the greatest country songs that speaks about how the relationship might have been if he would have taken different decisions as opposed to the ones he took.

Taylor Swift's track, "Picture To Born" is mostly about a lady that desires revenge and thinks of what she'd like to do to her ex-boyfriend, which cheated on her, while "Kerosene" by Miranda Lambert is mostly about a lady that speaks about the break up with a man who was unfaithful to her. "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood refers to a woman who trashed her ex-boyfriend's car for the reason that he cheated on her. The very last of our top ten greatest country songs about breaking up is the one sung by Dixie Chicks, "Goodbye Earl".
