By Allan Ainsworth

If you are any type of artist, you have most likely heard of Apple's Gargeband. It is workstation software that allows you to slickly, join, master and post produce pieces of music without needing any real musical talent or aptitude. One of the top things about GarageBand is that it is a complete podium for composing and sharing song. All you need is the time and drive to learn the software - no college degrees required.

If you mix your own loops, or even easier, employ pre recorded GarageBand loops you can experiment, mix, re-record and master a dazzling selection of sounds, beats and special effects. All it takes to create pro quality tunes is a workstation.

Using loops in this way you can compile tunes by adding to and building on your on-hand content, if you would like to grasp the basic progression, here are some simple steps to get started"

Set up Garageband on your system. You can download a free edition or if you want to make some more sophisticated tunes, you can buy the full edition of the software, either on-line or at many retail stores

Once it is installed on your computer, access the application (GargeBand) and click on the tab on the bottom right hand side (it looks like an eye). Clicking this allows you to choose 'Loop View"

Now you should notice a scroll bar that lets you scroll through all of the loops available until you get one that you like. (You can import your own loops and append them to this database)

Click on the loop and draw your pointer to the top right hand corner, you can expand the loop by simply dragging it.

Everybody can learn and master GarageBand loops. Relish the creative potential of the software by adding alternative sound effects and experimenting with all the different ways to modify your loop. One concluding point, make sure to save your session on a regular basis and have fun.
