Being Artists, Acting and Music

By Mike Taylor

Being artists is a very complex world. It doesn't mean focusing on one art only. You are talented with a guitar, and I'm sure you paint also, or you had the idea to be a painter as well, but never had the chance to try and show your skills as painter.

This happens with acting as well. There are many celebrities that switch from acting to singing or playing an instrument. They can be seen in movies, in dramatic performances, at events and introducing shows as well.

One artist I want to introduce is Manuel Marino and his Weblog where you can listen to music online. Manuel is an all around artist and while pausing from the music work, he relaxes with 3d art and painting.

Do you want a famous artist? Janet Jackson, a wonderful artist! She paused at the moment her singing career to focus on her acting work, with roles in in Tyler Perry's movie sequel Why Did I Get Married Too? and his upcoming drama For Colored Girls.

But she has not quit her music career at all! And will hit the studio next year to record a new album.

She tells Larry King, "Just because I've made two films back to back... it's always been a dream of mine to do something like this, so I kind of put music on the back burner to do this. And I will continue to do more films. But definitely, I can't give up music, it's in my blood. And I love, love, love performing. So I will make more music."

Having sold over 100 million records worldwide, Jackson is ranked as one of the best-selling artist in the history of contemporary music. Her tenth studio album, Discipline, was released in February 2008, debuting on the Billboard 200 at number one.
