Spaniels are actually called a sporting breed toy due to the combination of spaniels and toy characteristics. Though they like being cuddled, but they mostly have athletic instincts than you may think. There is no doubt that spaniels are good runners and chasers. Just make sure to install a fencing system to your yard since they love to pursue other animals.

Like other dog breeds, Spaniels also need a regular exercise. Of course, they need it for their health. On the other hand, these breeds are also people oriented. They usually get frustrated when left alone, this, having a companionship, either humans or pets is highly recommended. When left alone, they tend to bark all the time and even chew your sofa bed or soft pillows destructively.

Fortunately, Cavaliers can get along with other animals and even humans. But like other animals, they tend to have timidity, therefore, puppies need to be socialized at early ages to boost their confidence and outgoing temperament. So, if you really want their traits, then it is right for you.

But if you do not want to deal with lots of shedding, separation anxiety, shyness and timidity and even healthy problems, then this may not right for you. Actually, you can avoid some negative traits of dogs by choosing a good breeder and the right puppy. Once you acquire a puppy from animal shelters, make sure to pick an adult dog who has already proven that he does not have negative features.

It is always crucial to give them the training they need so they will respect you. One big problem with cavaliers nowadays is their health. The common health issues may include skin allergies, ear infections, and even heart failure, all of which are entitled to an insurance benefit.
