Developing The Right Practice Mindset For Fashion Style Drawing

By Tammie Caldwell

There is a very big difference when it comes to working on something because you have to, and doing it because you love the craft. Passion for something is what sets a part a good work from a better one. Passion is not something that can be taught. Different people have their own passions and if you want to live a life feeling fulfilled, then its better if you use the gift given to you in reaching out to others.

Unfortunately not all of us get the chance or even are brave enough to leave the comforts that we at present to pursue our dreams. For those who have a combined interest in drawing and fashion. Fashion style drawing can be an interesting avenue for them to hone their skills. It does not have to be something that follows a strict curriculum of some sort.

Once you have realized what you love to do most, the next big challenge would be to actually do something about it. In the case of those who love fashion, you will have to schedule your regular practice that is fit for the current one that you have. Take a look at these things that can help you.

Choose your materials. This is not so much of an issue as you can just secure the basic things from those that you have already at home. But if you are thinking of making it extra special, then buying a sketch book and a set of pencils may help. Also, if you would like to add some highlights of coloring on the finish, you may be interested in getting a set of pen as well.

Start to conceptualize. Before you actually get something written down, thinking of possible designs that you can work on. When it comes to fashion, you can be as creative as you want. Visualize what you want to draw and the details that you would like to add on it that is unique from all other designs that are now in the market.

Choose a convenient time and place. When it comes to making your craft, having the right place where you can concentrate and think without disturbance is vital. Also, it could help if you select a time that you are free. You do not have to sacrifice your other responsibilities for practicing. You just have to get rid of those activities that you do not need and spare those moments for practice.

Be disciplined. This attribute is important since it helps you get something done. You can decide to practice now. But only discipline can keep you doing it regularly. The more you do it, the more you learn and the more you crave for more knowledge about the craft. Strive to have discipline on this arena.

Find a mentor who can critic your work. Lastly, tap somebody who can give you feedback about your progress. It will be great if its someone who know a lot about fashion as well. This way, he or she can give you objective comments and suggestions to make your work better. You can start by asking some of your friends who can do the feedbacking for you.

If you want to excel at the thing that you love to do, doing it occasionally is not enough. You will have to do it often. Get straight with what you wish to accomplish and start working.
