The Very Great Chicago Actors

By Jayne Rutledge

There are many Chicago actors living all over this wonderful planet. These people are very talented and most of them were raised in very poor households. They had to fight their way to the top since many people with money tried to keep them on the bottom. You will also find that these individuals are very down to Earth.

Bill Murray is one man who is proud of his Illinois upbringing and he has achieved so much success during his lifetime. People everywhere remember him from the television show "Saturday Night Live" before he moved on to bigger and better things. He has had a long movie career and was even nominated for many awards.

When "Flashdance" first appeared in movie theatres within the United States no one had ever heard of Jennifer Beals. She took the country by surprise with her strong performance in this movie. Jennifer knows how to get along with people of all cultures since her dad was black and her mother is white. She did not have it easy while growing up on the south side of this city.

Harrison Ford is the man that every male wants to become when they grow up. He is very handsome and gives good performances in all of his movies. Harrison's character of Indiana Jones made him an instant celebrity even though he had been acting for many years. This man grew up in poverty and is now one of the richest men in Hollywood.

He will quickly tell anyone that Illinois is his original home and he is very proud of this state. Harrison studied to be an entertainer while he was working as a carpenter during the day. This film star almost gave up on his dream when he failed a movie audition earlier.

Walt Disney is from this particular area and he introduced the entire world to a character called Mickey Mouse. He was very proud of the work that he did for Hollywood and everyone really appreciated his input on many films. He has a long list of films and also created Walt Disney World.

Jennifer Hudson was always the very fat girl in her neighborhood while growing up within this windy city. After she gained attention from the television show "American Idol" her career quickly accelerated. She has now slimmed down and was a major player in the motion picture "Dream Girls." Her family was murdered by her sister's ex-boyfriend.

Chicago actors can also lead very tragic lives since John Belushi died too young. He was always very funny on television and in many films. "Saturday Night Live" was very lucky to have him for a few years. He moved on to the "Blues Brothers" which made him even more famous. Mr. Belushi could not handle all of this success and decided to do as many drugs as possible. He finally died from an overdose and people often compare him to Chris Farley. Chris was also very fat and funny during his lifetime.
