Comic Book Characters Under the Sea - Aquaman

By Scott Baker

When it is my generation’s time to reminisce the past, one debate will probably be whether the Simpsons was more entertaining than Family Guy or not. When Family Guy first aired, it was heavily compared with the Simpsons. However, Family Guy later on sped past this comparison as it became more popular in the niche of vulgar and creative cartoon comedy. One cannot simply deny the success of Family Guy as replacement and current favorite for what was one Simpsons’: the most entertaining, mature-content with engaging script that delivers to its audience the most vulgar and creative puns.

The battle between the two cartoons can also be seen in the merchandise available. Family Guy t-shirts are available in great number, as are tees featuring the Simpsons.

Family Guy is very much like the Simpsons as the both tell the story of a dysfunctional American family led by a very selfish father.Between The Simpsons and Family Guy, several other similarities can be observed. However, while the title says otherwise â€" it being a focus made on the father only, Family Guy actually is more successful in depicting a parody of an American family. The Griffin kids, for example, are portrayed as obese and vain.Aside from these, Family Guy introduces to its audience a well-thought comic character â€" Stewie Griffin, the English-accent talking genius toddler.Add to that the character of Brian Griffin, the talking alcoholic dog who walks on two feet .

With such great characters come some great tee designs. Family Guy t-shirts can be found featuring most of the main characters and some of the less well known ones also get a look in.Among my favorites are Stewie and Brian and you can be sure there are plenty Family Guy t-shirts featuring these guys.

Most noteworthy perhaps is the way Family Guy has captured the attention of the very demanding audience of America with a plot that has been used already in the past. This success is probably related to the current trend and demand for less predictability and more maturity in the script and storyline of Television series as opposed to the conservative ones which dominated in the past.Positive feedbacks from the audience towards vulgar, mature, unpredictable and sometimes, highly political or religious topics as subjects of humor made shows such as Family Guy, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and other sit-coms very successful. In the end, humor really is all about how the audience reacts and not how the clown acts.
